UNDP/ILDP assists local communities from ILDP target region in improving the quality of life, creating new economic opportunities and fighting poverty; - priorities stablished in regional and national development strategies. This is possible through supporting local authorities from towns in implementing local economic development (LED) strategies and improving local public services management and delivery. Currently UNDP/ILDP works with 6 towns from its target region in promoting Local Economic Development. Telenesti town is the pilot town selected to implement its development strategy and improve the solid waste management service - qualified as the highest-priority for towns overall development.
